Newport Aggregate prides itself on the safety of our mining operations, as well as the environmentally friendly techniques we practice in our operation. Newport Aggregate uses state of the art, environmentally friendly Komatsu equipment. This equipment is extremely fuel efficient, and uses new technology to lower emissions rates.

Newport Aggregate is currently mining land which was previously strip mined in the mid 1900’s, this land was left with many stripping pits and other hazards left behind by that era’s mining operations. When Newport Aggregate is finished extracting the remaining Anthracite and suitable stone from these areas we then re-grade them to their original contour which existed before the original strip mining took place. Once they are at original contour we seed them with many types of grasses and trees. This allows these previously unusable and hazardous areas to be enjoyed by everyone, and recreated to their original beauty.
